Peppermint Stick Holiday Frock GROSGRAIN GIVEAWAY!!!!

Peppermint Stick Holiday Frock GROSGRAIN GIVEAWAY!!!!

OMG how cute is this! I would wear it out in the freezing cold its lovely!

Tis the season

I can't wait tomorrow to buy Amy Grant's christmas CD! I've fallen in love with her song, "Breath of Heaven(Mary's Song)". [video here] Sometimes we have to remember there are bigger plans than just our own. And christmas is about Jesus birth not just santa and gifts.

Another favorite of mine is "The Christmas Shoes" by NewSong. If you've never heard it, listen to it. But please really listen to the lyrics. Its a really powerful song about a big truth to remind us what Christmas is all about.

We all face rough parts in our lives, but the Lord will never give us more than we can handle. I try to remember their are always people with problems so much worse than mine. Though sometimes I truly wonder why, I know I should never question. We just have to do the best we can with what cards we are given. Happy Holidays Blog world.

Time

for a change with the good ol' blog. You'll see things change a bit. Let me know if ya like it? I'm torn between two different ones, and might test both for a bit.
We will start with London, and maybe move to a winter one depending on my moods, lol.

Giving Thanks

Wow, I have a million reasons to be thankful this thanksgiving.
I feel I should say I am the luckiest wife. I love my husband dearly and would give anything for him. He has blessed me with two wonderful children. My darling kids make me smile each day.
This year I've gotten the privilege of moving to S. Korea and seeing a new country! Meeting new people. Including some very nice American and Korean soldiers. Each is carving their own place in my heart.
I'm also thankful for the generous and great opportunity some designers have given me by inviting me on their CT's.
I'm so lucky to have had another year with my family, friends, and waking up each day to a new day! I'm so lucky to be able to say my husband still has a job and supports us. And that he supports me in all that I do.

I also had a thankful exciting happy mail drop by Wednesday. As well as being part of the KaiserCraft Digital CT, I've been creating hybrid stuff too! KaiserCraft (and lovely Rainie) has been so very generous to give some of us CT girls that make hybrid creations boxes of paper supplies! Flowers, brads, rub-ons, ribbon, pearls, bling and so much more!!!! I can't express how excited I was and am. I have very very limited supply over here and this just made my stash quadruple if not more! It was the first box to arrive at my apt and not our PO. I was so thrilled that our addy even worked! I couldn't wait to open it. First as a good scrapbooker I had to take pictures of each step. So to share with everyone some of the yumminess. I'm sharing only one picture of it all in the box. I can't give it all away then there's no surprise when I share my creations!

I'm just so Thankful for everything I have and everything I'm able to do. I hope you and yours have a great Thanksgiving as well!

I have something I can show!!!!!!!!

Its the most amazing thing! I have layouts I can actually share!
I'm gonna just chose the best one to share as I don't feel like blogging a ton right now.
I just love this picture of Xander from Halloween! I made this layout for a challenge for the ACOT crop this weekend, I won cause I got a great layout. :)
Journaling: Xander is the next Edward Cullen. I even imagine him being just as crazy driver as Edward. He definitely has the pale sckin for it. The girls seem to fall for him pretty well too.

Well, I've got to cook a bit this weekend and that rocked, this week will be short, and hopefully painless. Hubby's new friend that comes over on the weekend does dishes!!! OMG its great!

Sat morning

came too soon. I got up semi early to start cropping and am having a hard time getting started. Hubby was sweet enough to make me breakfast and bring it to my desk. I just have to start weather I want to or not, maybe then it will flow. I got a couple ideas brewing... just need to do them.

One word for ya-

Chores

I've been putting them off for about two and half weeks. Just no motivation to get off my rump and clean. Well I figured if I was gonna crop this weekend, I should clean the house first. I made a list of the chores I would start on this week... Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday cam and went and now its Friday. MUST clean. The crop starts Sat morning and Tony is coming for at least the night, maybe weekend again. So I tried to get everything cleaned up and fresh.
I've gotta run to store and grab some food items but I'm pretty much set to go. I did tell the boys I would cook taco ring this weekend at least. I'll probably make spaghetti too. I know its crop time, but I love having people around to cook for more!
gotta run to store and pick up food. Have a great friday.

Didn't go as planned

Just when I think I can finally show something... nope. Not yet. Well poop! I really truly have nothing to show for all my hard work lately. So I thought I would share some flair that made me smile.
These are all just flair. If you take anything to serious.... wow lighten up then....

Brrrrrrrrrrr

When you think it can't get any colder... it does. Time to heat up some hot coco and crack up the heater. And all I can say is sorry to my poor husband. He has to go stand out in this for an hour....
The heater thing has been cranking it out all night. Making all kinds of noises. I think it hates the cold too.
I did manage to get the laundry washed, need to dry the last bedding load. And 2/3 rds of the dishes done yesterday. Woohoo. I have not been in the cleaning mood lately. The fish need a bath too. I should really do that today since tomorrow my husband will be home all day. We will see what actually gets done, at this rate I'm gonna hide under my covers. The temperature has been dropping so far this morning and in no way wants to make me get out of bed any faster.
Hope your side of the world is warmer than mine! Post again later when my fingers are warm enough to hit the keys :)

It is winter

It just keeps getting colder the last 3 days rather than warming up at all. We've now hit -2 degrees C. I've begun to hibernate, lol. I have a couple more things I wanted to pick up before this weekend's online crop but will probably send my husband out for them. Its not worth it to me to freeze my butt off.
I've also picked up what the kids are getting for Christmas and can't wait to pick it up on payday. I'm hoping it will warm back up a bit for that. No Black Friday shopping here. That's better for my budget, lol.
I've done two hybrid projects yesterday and have one more to do today. All for CT's and not able to share right now, lol!
This whole floor heater thing... well sucks. It doesn't seem to heat much of anything. I'm still cold :( Well I really should get up and get going. Its monday and that means chores to do..... If I don't return tomorrow I froze.

Suckage x2

1. Our internet was going retarded last night.
2. It was snowing last night! It was that cold and wet. Even my computer told me so. I can't sit inside and ignore it... noooo.
So middle of November and snow.... hmmmm. Not sure if this is a sign for a white Christmas or if this is doom. Guess we will have to wait and see.

TIGF

Well its friday. Which means my husband is home... but not alone. He arrived midday which is great with a buddy of his. They've spent all afternoon playing Modern Warfare 2. I've been scrapping! BUT I have nothing I can show! I've done a ton of CT work! I've got three hybrid projects to do this weekend. I've already started on one. I can't wait to do these! It will be so much fun to get to use some actual glue. I won't be able to share any midweek. :)
ACOT is having a crop next weekend which I plan to play as much as I can. I'm hoping to try a class that they are teaching as well as complete some of the challenges.

The weather here is definitely cooling off more. I feel cold all the time rather than just at night, lol. I'm hoping to pick up a hat tonight when we go out, maybe even a matching scarf. We will see what I like.
Have a Rockin' Weekend!

What is sweet, soft, and smooth all at the same time?

White hot chocolate with a twist of cinnamon! What a wonderful way to start off the holidays then with those wonderful recipes that remind us of the great smells and flavors of the holidays?
I added whip cream and a dash of coco powder on top and stuck another cinnamon stick in the side. Adds more flavor as your drinking it. It was heavenly! If you'd like to try it too here is the recipe.

ingredients

  • 3 cups half-and-half or light cream*
  • 3/4 cup vanilla-flavor baking pieces or vanilla-flavor candy coating, chopped
  • 3 inches stick cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • Slivers of vanilla-flavor candy coating (optional)
  • Ground cinnamon (optional)

directions

1. Combine 1/4 cup of the half-and-half or light cream, vanilla baking pieces or chopped candy coating, stick cinnamon, and nutmeg in a medium saucepan; whisk over low heat until vanilla baking pieces or candy is melted. Remove stick cinnamon.

2. Add remaining half-and-half or light cream. Whisk until heated through. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and almond extract. Serve warm in cups or mugs; top with slivers of vanilla-flavor candy coating and sprinkle with cinnamon, if desired. Makes 5 (6-ounce) servings.

Let your imagination soar-

I love to do occasional layouts that are more like fairy tale type scenes. Its a nice way to step out of the normal realm of scrapbooking.

Sense-ational Morning

"I walk in to see the familiar face looking back at me threw the glass case. The warm roasting beans smell swirls in the air around my ears. Feeling that rush in my blood without even drinking it. Feeling my feet carry me towards the wooden counter I hear myself say what it wants without even seeming to realize the voice is my own. Naturally my hands are holding my card out stretched at the young woman. I feel it slide back into my soft leather wallet and my body glides across to the end of the natural wooden counter. I wait just letting the classical music and sweet smell fill my senses. The lady calls out something I heard just before. My hand reaches up for that tall tall cup. The heat seeps out of the small hole on top to my upper lip. The warm liquid rushes down my throat and sends an electric wave threw my blood waking me up to the world."
Everyone should check out KaiserCraft's new Argentella Mega Kit here. All KaiserCraft digital kits are 50% off threw this Friday!!! So getcha some while the deal lasts ;)

I have a challenge

Start taking pictures of things that interest your senses. For this week I chose the smell of cinnamon. To me it is the smell of the holidays and reminds me of baking in the kitchen. So I took pictures and even scrapped them!
And a special thank you to Kim Hill for allowing me the honor to be on her CT and be able to use her awesome kits!

Ever been so excited?

You just can't sleep? You don't even realize your hungry? All you can think about is the exciting news!
Well thats how I've been for the past 28 ish hours!
I went for the long shot with the general rule in mind that if you don't try you'll never know. So, I threw myself out there. With the gentle push of a good friend and husband, I applied for the new digital Kaiser Craft CT call.
Yesterday I got an email from them. My first thought was that they had emailed to say they got my email and would get back to me. I opened the email on my phone, as I was in the kitchen and had just finished washing dishes. My pruney fingers sliding it up and down in disbelief. I was reading it over and over trying to let it sink in(not sure it has yet).
They had chose me! Me? Really? Me? From everyone in the world, me?
Once some of the shock had faded. I set the phone down and went to sit. I was just astonished to say the least. Well in the email they said to wait till it is published on their blog before we spill.
I for one suck at keeping surprises! But I did it!!!! So they published a bit ago! (Their Blog)
I think I've posted about it everywhere I can and told everyone I could! I'm so honored and just can't wait to dive right in!

Halloween korean style

Well the sky opened and it poored Halloween night. Luckly I was smart enough to go out earlier and grabbed the biggest, bestest umbrella.
Here is our night in pictures :)
Xander dressed and ready to trick or treat as a vampire
Alicia looking deceitfully peaceful dressed as an angel for halloween
Kids heading out the door ready to terrorize the neighborhood
Getting the goods
The stash
The commentary by my dear husband, thank you.
Will be posting later with more good news :)

It caught me

The fall crud has gotten me by the throat. My blog will be on hitais for a few days till I can post again. I've got Halloween, news, and a new challenge to add soon :)
