A little bit of this and a little bit of that...

Okay super long blog post coming... just to say I warned ya-

First my kids made the cupcakes for Xander's party. They did excellent in their first baking expedition. I was so proud of them! They did every step and mixed it up well! I spooned it into the cups and baked it. It was so neat to see them actually cook!

Well the next day we had his birthday party. The kids had so much fun!!! They enjoyed the cupcakes.

Then we opened presents. He got tons of great stuff.

I did a photo walk/shoot with my new friend Danny last Sunday. She got this adorable white dress that looked great on her! I think it turned out pretty well even though in the end we had a crazy accident. No one was seriously hurt thankfully. Though, I'm even more not trusting of Korean drivers now!

This past week was actually rather mellow. Things settled down as much as they could with us continuing preschool class, summer reading program and arts and craft hour. I had some FRG training Wed and got to go hang out with the girls. I enjoyed some time with the girls so much and released I need to do that more often!

Well, Evan is actually home this weekend so we are spending some family time. Friday night we went and saw Inception. Besides the fact I don't like Leo, the movie was good. We also got the kids new bed sets with sheets that really fit. We have Army issued twin beds that I guess are made XL. Which means we've ripped some sheets trying to get them to fit. We found Twin XL bed sets at the BX. So now the kids have matching pillow cases/sheets/comforters/fleece blankets/bed shams/matching throw pillow, the whole works! Ali's is even textured, it kinda reminds Evan and me of the 1950's with the shag carpet and funny textures. She loves it! I love that both sets are strips/polka dots in whiteand blue/pink. Its nice not to worry about character sheets.

I've been working hard on trying to get Xander ready for school. Got most of his supplies and wanna sign him up for soccer. I'm worried about getting the gear. I also wanted to sign Ali up for ballet but have to order the leotard and what not since they don't have them here. I'm running out of time to order it all since the sign up is the end of the first week of Aug. Ali may have to wait till next fall to do it since getting Xander ready for school is my main focus.

I took this picture of Ali after her nap the other day and wanted to share it as well. I think my photography skills are really taking form as well as my style. I've got several photo shoots coming up and am very excited to see where all this takes me.

Sick kiddlets

Well we rang in Xander's birthday with a late night ER trip. He was told he had double ear infections. First time in his life with an ear infection and he picks his birthday. Poor kid. Well I still tried to make it nice day and let him pick out movies and went and got Pizza Hut for dinner. We got lucky and our Disney box finally arrived with his Woody doll and jammies as well. Ali got a Jessie doll and jammies. And of course, if one kid gets sick, then the other must too. Well Saturday Ali came down with it too. We now have two sick kids with tons of stuff to do this week. Everything will be canceled as needed since I don't wanna take out contagious kids.

Thankful

Just popping back on today to say how thankful I am to meet some super sweet ladies here in Korea. Having some friends here has really made a world of difference in our life here. They are so helpful and kind. My friends helped me with some super awesome things for the kids today. I was so happy and motivated I washed dishes, cleaned the house and cooked dinner. The kids had a good day and it even rained this afternoon. I don't know why but all day I had been hoping it would.
I've made my list of everything to clean and cook before Sat. Games are being planned and kids are getting excited. All of it is making me excited! My baby boy will be 5 and will be going to school in the fall. :)

Last week-this week-next week--AHHHH

We have spent the past week in a hotel in Seoul enjoying a nice change of scenery. It was awesome in so many ways. We spent the first 3 days in the marriage retreat. It was our first and incredibly informative. I would love to go to another. We stayed extra and my wonderful hubby sat in a two hour line with me surrounded by tons of teenagers to see the opening of Eclipse there. It was awesome even with all the hooting and hollaring from the teens. We finally made it home today with so much to pick up and clean.
My good news I ran out of time to share.... I have been invited to join the Acherryontop Creative Team. I have always loved ACOT and love the forum with wonderful team and ladies. I'm super excited to be joining them.
Now this week I have to do a photo session, cook, clean and BAKE! Xander's party is Saturday and the house is no where near ready. I'm not sure we will be getting out much beyond school for the kids as I have to unpack, wash laundry, clean the house, bake the cupcakes, decorate everything... It's gonna be crazy. I've gotta remember to take the time and do his 5 year photos as I do them every year. I'm also sure we will be dropping by the park once a day to let out some of their energy. Watch out world- my boy is growing up!
